About Our Practice
The PIIC Center, an independent infusion clinic, was established over three decades ago as an extension of my esteemed medical practice. Our guiding principle has always been to prioritize simplicity and act in the best interest of our patients and the community.

As the founder, Dr. Donna O'Neill, I was born in Pittsburgh but grew up and received my medical training in Canada. I now reside in Jackson, where I raised my two children. Dr. Vivek Kak, an experienced and dedicated professional, joined our team over 20 years ago.

My medical background includes internal medicine, infectious diseases, and medical microbiology. My diverse career has allowed me to witness pivotal moments in medical history, such as the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the groundbreaking treatment of Hepatitis C. The 2019 Covid pandemic was an unforeseen and impactful event in my career.
Over the years, I have engaged in various roles, such as working in prisons, handling challenging cases in hospitals, and serving as a member of the Clinical Affairs Committee for the Infectious Disease Society of America. Recently, I have taken the initiative to educate our community on health matters, particularly COVID-19, by participating in JTV's The Morning Show.

Infusion services have been an integral part of my practice since its inception, evolving from a single-chair setup to our current state-of-the-art facility.

Dr. Kak's distinguished career began at Michigan State and led him to become the first Medical Director of the Internal Medicine Program at Henry Ford Allegiance. Recognized as Doctor of the Year in 2016 and a Trailblazer recipient in 2020, Dr. Kak provides consultation services for hospitals in areas such as Infection Control and Antibiotic Stewardship. Currently, he attends to inpatients in Jackson and Chelsea.
For Patients
Typically, a single phone call is all that is required to initiate the process, whether you are the patient, a family member, or a healthcare professional. Our aim is to maintain simplicity and efficiency throughout the process.

Regardless of whether you are currently in or out of the hospital, we can often provide assistance. For instance, if you have been a previous patient and are now under the care of other hospital providers, you are always welcome to return to us. Simply request that your care be administered at The PIIC Center.
Remember, you have a choice in where you seek treatment and how your healthcare dollars are allocated. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at 517-788-4781.
Healthcare Professionals
For healthcare professionals, please call us at 517-788-4781 and indicate that you require infusion therapy services. If you believe that your patient requires immediate attention, request to speak directly with the doctor. Alternatively, you may download a consultation request form and fax it to us at 517-788-4799.

Please be aware that certain therapies may necessitate a brief approval period. We typically require the patient's contact information, insurance details, and relevant documentation. Once we have received this information, our insurance department will review it for any necessary authorizations. Following this, we will contact your patient to schedule their appointment.
